Yes, it is a good tools and highly rated but it does cost money. Only the trial version is free. Also make sure that if you do download it, do so from a reputable source such as TuCows or Download.com.
If you are looking for some free products that are good, you can look at the ones listed below. Since they are free, you may have to check for, and enable, updates regularly as well as manually run scans. SpywareBlaster also is free and blocks a lot of spyware before it installs on your computer.

Yes it’s safe, but I’ve read mixed reviews about it so I’m not sure that I could recommend it. Spybot Search&Destroy does everything I need.

I’m thinking of "spy doctor" – spy doctor is probably a rogue but Spyware Doctor is from Google so it is almost certainly safe.

I use it all the time. Be careful it will erase some temp files you need if you don’t check the ignore option.

No it isn’t. I downloaded it and it messed up my whole computer. It made it run as slow as a turtle. Really don’t download it.
