I am have avast! Free Antivirus and Windows Firewall. How do I check the status of which firewalls are running? I have a Windows 7 HP Desktop. Also someone suggested to me to install two spywares i have spybot search & destroy 1.6.2 and there other suggestion was Malwbytes Anti-Marlware 1.46 but i am not sure if this is a anti-spyware. I am also afraid this computer might also be installed with eblaster or a program a like it I just need a solid program that can spot if a program like eblaster was installed on this computer.

i have format the c: drive, reinstalled the windows but the Trojan horse remains in c:\WINDOWS\MDM.EXE.

I have re-installed it from the Microsoft CD. After the fresh installation i installed Norton antivirus and had the latest virus updates. but when i click on my D: Drive to access some files the trojan again appears. and the norton real time protection gave me the MSG: "Virus Found: name: Trojan Horse: location/ file: C:\Windows\MDM.EXE"
now my question is if the virus is in the file which is located in D: Drive the why the norton protection giving me the Wrong location, plus when i scan my computer with the norton antivirus it didn’t find any virus in D: Drive.
I hope you guys understand now.

I get a windows error after I installed NOD32 :

After some time – maybe hours of work …. I get a message:

ekrn.exe has generated errors & will be closed by Windows

This message is not soooo bad

BUT what it does it freezes my windows & I need to do restart
and this fact is NOT good….

I did a google search & to my surprise I DIDNT find it…

I used some good spy programs & it seems I am clean !!!

Maybe there is a FIX to download?

somehow the NOD32 Anti virus collides with something
maybe its Explorer ?

On my computer, I have Spybot S&D and Avast! Antivirus. Both programs are constantly updated along side Windows Update. I also have Norton Spyware Scan on my Yahoo toolbar as well. Norton Spyware Scan keeps finding Backdoor.Trojan and FakerAlert on my computer. Both Spybot and Avast dont find anything at all. So my question is why is the Trojan and FakerAlert keep coming back to my computer and how is it possible I can remove them FOR GOOD? I’d also like to point out that, I’ve looked up of how to remove them and I haven’t had a straight answer as how to do so.

Okay, so I logged on my laptop, & this thing pops up: "Security Warning: Application cannot be executed. The file wuaclt.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your anti virus software now?" it pops up every 15 seconds. I don’t have a software, but for some reason this "Anti virus Live SWP2009" is on my computer?! I didn’t put it on! It won’t let me open ANYTHING. Itunes, movie maker, word pad, anything except for Mozilla Firefox. It won’t even let me do system restore on Control Panel ://. It says the same thing, that it’s infected. But it’s not. Please help me, any suggestions for an Anti Virus program? PLEASE! & thank you.

I found another answer for this on here & I downloaded the Malwarebytes anti-malware, but every time I start the scan it closes by itself. Am I doing anything wrong? Please help fast! Thank you!
Also, I got this thing from the stupid AV360 thing too!
I put it into safe mode & ran the scan. It deleted a bunch of viruses, but the AV360 is still on my computer and now a ICatch PC Camera Console thing appears on my pc bar at the bottom of my screen & won’t close out.
I’ve tried both of these suggestions & now the pop up messages have stopped, but the desktop icon is still on my computer & still asks for you to go to the add/remove programs folder to delete it.

a friend had new pc xmas running windows xp, she didnt know a lot about computers & put it on internet with no virus software, she asked me to come look at it for her and i noticed straight away there was no virus software or firewall on pc so i sorted that out & put bullguard on for her……. but too late it keeps on trying to run ctfmona.exe witch i think is a nasty backdoor trojan that bullguard will not deal with…..how can i get rid of this will i need to wipe pc? or is there a easier way? i have limited pc skills myself please help?

Hello I having a problem with a virus that runs a program called recycle.exe from an autorun.inf run from usb’s and is stored on the HDD. It hides the original folder for example "music" and makes a copy of the name and makes it music.exe and it has a folder icon. So all you can see is the application until you set it so you can see hidden folders. Here is the code from the autorun.inf

After finally figuring out WHAT the problem is on my pc,I am now struggling to get rid of it.
Still having problems and all the programs I have used have FOUND the problem…but none have been able to fix/delete the problem.I can find no answers on the net.Please help.

AVG was unable to find the files to do anything with them…Avast is blocking and scanning every 20mins on re-boot and finding 1-3 files each time but cant do anything with them
Also gone through the process of dleteting schost.exe/blastclnnn.exe and autorun.ini as well as autorun.inf….NONE of those were found on the system-found that answer on computergeeks but got me nowhere
ok,after last scan…infected file is within program files,in common files and in a folder labeled windowsliveinstallerproduct…..There is no file/folder named this and yes I see hidden folders so I cant find it to get to the infected file
BENJAMIN~~Gonna go through each of your steps now,though I know scvhost.exe wont be found as did that before (see above) BUT,one thing that confused me,was the -Create new blank executable files with the same malware file names so the Trojan will not download new file copies and repair itself. Type "edit scvhost.exe" and press "Enter." Save the file and exit. Then type "edit runouce.exe" and press "Enter." Save the file and exit. Type "exit" from the command prompt and press "Enter" to return to the desktop operating system. bit??

BENJAMIN-Did everything you stated bar the create new blank .exe….regedit showed 1 svchost which could not be deleteted and all other run commands showed nothing svchost.exe or runouce.exe…
Cant delete all svchost.exe in task manager as I need1 or 2 to keep the pc on
