We have contracted the Trojan virus on our computer. Can someone tell me how to get rid of it?

AdwareBot is the best and most reliable Trojan Virus removal tool – without a doubt! If you need a fast and thorough tool that is easy to use and cost the least, then there’s only one solution – AdwareBot: AdwareBot.com
We have downloaded the Super Antispyware virus program and attempted to run it yesterday. It took over 8 hrs and then locked up. I am re-running it today but the browser continues to run in the background with all of the anti-spy programs it wants us to download. Any ideas what we can try now? It seems like the Super Antispy ware program continues to lock up. Please help! Thank you very much.

ok i can help you becuz i can get rid of many trojan horses on my computer. But first you must tell me what is the trojans name? Also try runing in safe mode. Also if you have Mcafee it mite be able to delete it. If you know the trojans name look it up on the internet, also there is a very useful tool i found called Process Explorer. Look it up on google. Thats how i got rid of a trojan called Virtu Monde AKA Vundo trojan on my computer hope this helps. P.S if you want me to help you personally you can email me the name of the trojan at dock59man@yahoo.com

Try running it in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode, reboot and then either hold down or tap the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is starting up.

You can try to download AVG free. This should rectify the situation when you run the programme, failing that you may have to buy some anti virus software which is probably your best bet if you really want to clean the system of the virus.

First thing, unplug your connection to the internet. Once you’re offline the virus can’t do any harm. To get rid of it you’ll have to install and run a virus checker. I’d recommend McAffee or Norton. You can easily pick one up in a computer shop somewhere.

It certainly sounds like you have been infected with some kind of malware. Unfortunately, if you find one infection, it is highly likely you have another one.
Since NONE of the anti-spyware/anti-adware programs are 100% accurate in finding and removing spyware, you need at least two programs which you will run one after the other, not at the same time.
There are two excellent free ones:
Spybot, Search and Destroy
and
Ad-Aware
Both are available FREE from http://www.download.com
You will need to download, install, update and run them, one at a time. Be careful with the NAME of these programs – there are "look-alikes" with very similar names, that are in fact spyware themselves!
After this current infection is cleared up, be sure to run both of the above programs at least once a week if you are on the internet frequently and/or like to download music or files.
Before you run these, clean up (delete) your cookies, temp files and temporary internet files. I prefer to use Ccleaner (available at http://www.filehippo.com) to do this, rather than the built-in DISK CLEANUP. If you want to use Disk Cleanup, you can find it if you:
- Double-Click on My Computer to open it up
- RIGHT-click on your C: drive
- Choose PROPERTIES and then click on the DISK CLEANUP button
- When done, reboot your computer.
Delete these files daily or run Ccleaner every day right before you shut your computer down.
You should also have a good anti-virus program and a firewall to help protect your computer. AVG FREE is an excellent anti-virus program, which can be downloaded from http://www.download.com. Zone Alarm makes a totally free version (watch you don’t download the 30-day free trial of the paid version). You can download this from the manufacturer at http://www.zonelabs.com
HTH : )
Good luck!

Go here and carry out an online scan.
http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan?sitepanda=empresas/
When it finds the virus it should kill it. But remember to make a note of the virus, then go here and se if they have a repair.

Check Panda again for manual removal instaructions too

This should rectify the situation when you run the programme, if you really want to clean the system of the virus.

I hate to tell you this but you are going to need to reformat your hard drive. What you got is nothing short of crapware, and it has infected your hard drive and all your running processes. First and foremost do not download anything off the net from software vendors you are not familiar with, doing so will expose you to every kind of bug you can think of, also you will get a flood of spam in your inbox the likes you won’t be able to deal with. Secondly only go with software vendors that are Microsoft partners and have been approved by them for use on their operating systems. This will save you a lot of aggravation and reformats. Thirdly, if you get offers like that again that tell you this is the hottest thing on the market, like the old adage says, something that looks too good to be true , then guess what it probably is. Good luck to you.

Sorry for the delay but I have just seen your question:
My guess is that you have been zapped with a Smitfraud. Normal Spyware programs will have difficulty dealing with it therefore I suggest you download a fix from any of these sites:

OR

Ahhhh Trojans………..i know that feeling
i have a antivirus program on my computer which automatically
pick up trojans if they were to get into your computer one name is AVG, you can download the free addition from …
free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 and load it up on your computer and it will get it out…. if it doesnt there is another program called ’spybot search and destroy’ and this is also free..you can download this from http://www.download.com…or if you want to go further theres a another program called "AD-AWARE SE PERSONAL" from the website http://www.lavasoft.com or can be downloaded also from http://www.download.com…..AD-AWARE SE is really good to run straight of ur desktop as for spybot search and destroy is actually programmed to be set into your computer as a timer (automatically scanning whatever is coming and going)…i’ve used these programs for over 5 years now and they really do work, Norton is good too only thing is it cost money.. the downside is its really slow and say if you forget to download new updates and your computer gets infected by a new virus it will crash your complete system, the only way out is to format ur computer which is just a wast of time and added frustration……… hope this helps………. good luck
